Jacqueline Corea Jacqueline Corea

Jacqueline's successful interior design career began in commercial design, specializing in restaurant and commercial projects. In 2000 she established her residential interior design firm Jacqueline Corea Design and in 2005, partnered with Reena Sotropa to create Corea Sotropa Interior Design.

Jacqueline is frequently sourced as an industry expert by newspapers and magazines and is seen regularly on Breakfast Television. Her special interest is renovations - reconfiguring existing spaces to accommodate client's needs: all aspects of a project from start to finish including the planning, design, and furniture selection. She focuses on interior architecture, lighting design and built-ins as well as surfaces finishes. Jacqueline delights in creating stunning furniture and fabric combinations and has a special appreciation for beautiful items and gorgeous fabrics – both modern and traditional.

“Timeless transitional style combining time honoured and contemporary pieces is most commonly requested by our clients,” says Jacqueline. “Creating inviting, fresh, graceful but stylish interiors by incorporating comfortable textures, a flicker of sparkle and a splash of colour are what we are best know for.”

Jacqueline's personal style combines classic traditional pieces with modern textures and simple lines. She loves to travel and is frequently inspired in her work by distinctive architectural and cultural elements. Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary and is a graduate of Mount Royal College Interior Design Program.

Reena Sotropa

Reena spent more than five years in corporate design and project management for a Saskatchewan-based company while also operating a successful, independent residential design firm.

Having fallen in love with Calgary's incredible energy, she joined talents with Jacqueline Corea in 2005 to form Corea Sotropa Interior Design.

Reena is passionate about interior design and also enjoys, and is very involved in, the day-to-day business operations of the firm.

“The design approach that I recommend to clients is to look at their project as a whole and create a game plan which includes every aspect of the design from the partition plan and built-in millwork all the way to furniture drapery and accessories,” says Reena. “I love the challenge of incorporating concepts or an element that has personal meaning to the client… and, the overall plan can be implemented as time and resources allow to result in a design that is harmonious and logical.”

Reena's personal aesthetic is quite contemporary, and she likes to incorporate traditional or quirky elements or pieces for interest. She considers her own home renovations and decorating as somewhat of test-lab where she tries new details or innovative product resources before recommending them to clients.

Reena holds an Art History degree from the University of Regina, frequently drawing on this background for design inspiration, and is a graduate of the Interior Design program at Calgary’s Mount Royal College.
